We all know that UNLV and San Diego State are locks to make the NCAA Tournament. And most likely, so too is New Mexico, barring a late-season meltdown.

After all, those three are projected by ESPN’s Joe Lunardi to a three seed (UNLV) a five seed (San Diego State) and an 11 seed (New Mexico) in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
But what was also interesting from Lunardi’s report, was that both Wyoming and Colorado State are on the bubble.
Officially, Lunardi has the Pokes and the Rams as the first four out. He has Wyoming one slot over CSU thanks to the Pokes’ win last weekend over UNLV.
So what are the chances of four Mountain West teams making the Big Dance? About 10 percent.
It would be a giant step for the Mountain West, but highly unlikely, especially since the Big Ten and the Big East will get a combined 17 between them.
